Died: December 26, 2020

 

About: 

 

Engineer, inventor of the Far Ultraviolet Electrographic Camera, which was used on the Apollo 16 mission. Also developed instruments that were used in several space shuttle missions. Inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2003 and was awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation in 2011.

About: 

 

Astronaut who served as a payload specialist on two Space Shuttle missions: STS-35 and STS-67. Brought amateur radio equipment on these missions to communicate with people back on Earth. Also did research on star evolution that resulted in multiple publications.
